
The Laguna Beach Public Rally’s of “America First” and Counter Protestors on Sunday August 20 2017 ended abruptly when The Laguna Beach Police dispersed the Crowd when they failed to obey Police Orders.
The Laguna Beach Police Department stated that the “mission of our police department is to allow for freedom of expression afforded through the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, as long as it is done in a peaceful and lawful manner.”
At 3:00pm people started to arrive at Main Beach Park in Laguna Beach to exercise their First Amendment right of Freedom of Speech.
The Laguna Beach Police cited Unlawful Assembly at 9:30pm when people refused to stop running into the street.
The Police are reporting that they made (3) Arrests in conjunction to the Laguna Beach Rally.
The Laguna Beach Protest swelled to around 2500 people at its height.
Laguna Beach Police coordinated a team of over 250 Officers and Deputies from Laguna Beach County partnered agencies.
The supported agencies included the Laguna Beach Fire Department, Marine Safety, Public Works Department, and several allied fire agencies.
The Laguna Beach Police controlled the Public Protest by strategically controlled the crowd with the aid of ground support, mounted patrol and air support.
The Laguna Beach Police report that it was an excellent display of our mutual aid partnership.
The Laguna Beach Police point out that having the appropriate personnel and resources to properly address a rally of this size is what made it successful.
Specifically the Laguna Beach Police Department would like to thank the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Westminster, Anaheim, Newport Beach, Tustin, Santa Ana, UCI, Seal Beach, Fullerton, Fountain Valley, Orange, Costa Mesa, Garden Grove, and San Diego Sheriff and Police Departments for their assistance.
