Sherman Gardens Free Classic Movie Night Presents Rebel Without A Cause.
This famous film was shot a a number of familiar locations, including Griffith Observatory, Griffith Park, Santa Monica, Los Feliz and Hollywood.
M.H. Sherman was at one point one of the major landholders in these areas.
In 1944 Sherman Company donated about 400 acres of Hollywood open space to Griffith Park.
This large, passive, eco-sensitive property borders the Lake Hollywood reservior (west), the former Hollywoodland sign (north), and Bronson Canyon (east) where it connects into the original Griffith Park donation.
Paul Wormser Library Director of Sherman Gardens will give a brief talk regarding M.H. Sherman’s ties to these areas.
