The Laguna Beach Arts Commission meets Monday April 23 2018 at 5:30pm.
The Laguna Beach Arts Commission will be meeting at Laguna Beach City Council Chambers.
Laguna Beach City Council Chambers are located at 505 Forest Avenue.
The public is encouraged to attend.

Proposed Discussion Items Include:

2222 Laguna Canyon Road (Laguna College of Art + Design) – Discuss and approve the installation of a temporary mural titled “Empowerment through Enlightenment” by Timothy Smith.

Village Entrance AIPP Sub-Committee– Discuss and approve two Arts Commission members to serve on the sub- committee.

Arts Commission Members – Discuss the number of members serving on the Commission and the potential benefits or negatives of increasing the Commission to 9 members.

Sunset Serenades – Review schedule and discuss Commission assignments.

Sunset Serenades is a free public concert series featuring live music every Friday evening from May 4 to June 8, 2018 at the Heisler Park Amphitheater, Cliff Drive, from 6:30 p.m. to sunset.
5/4: Jackie Menter Trio – Classical
5/11: Jack Benny – Eclectic/Acoustic Pop trio
5/18: The Phil Gough/Alan Deremo Project
5/25: Maestro Lazaro Galarraga and Friends – Afro Cuban 6/1: Gamelan X with Mayang Sunda – Indonesian
6/8: L’Esprit D’ Afrique – African

2018/2019 Arts Commission Special Programs Budget – Discuss and approve the Arts Commission Special

Programs Budget of the Business Improvement District.
The available budget for Arts Commission Special Programs budget of the Business Improvement District 2018-19 will be $211,000.
