Laguna Beach Animal Services Officers will be canvassing Laguna Beach to verify Dog Licenses starting Friday June 1 2018.

Many dog owners do not realize that state and local laws require all dogs over four (4) months of age to be licensed, and to wear a dog license tag at all times.

New residents or dogs newly acquired shall obtain a dog license within fifteen (15) days.

Animal Services Officers from the Laguna Beach Police Department will begin going door-to-door to verify that dogs are properly licensed.

Animal Services Officers may leave a door hanger to remind residents that their dog licenses are expired and need to be renewed.

Securing a dog license is an important part of identification and can assist Animal Services if your pet becomes lost.

The twelve (12) month licensing fee for residents is as follows:

Regular (not spayed or neutered): $48.00

Spayed/Neutered: $24.00

Senior Citizens (65 years or older) receive a 50% discount of the applicable fee.

There is a late fee of $17.00 if the dog license is not purchased by the due date.

Pet registrations are not transferable or refundable.

You can secure a new dog license by downloading an application from the City Website and mailing it with a check made payable to the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter.

You may also obtain or renew a dog license at the Animal Shelter or the Cashiers Counter at City Hall during regular business hours.

The Animal Shelter is open seven days a week from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

City Hall is open from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 4:30pm alternating Fridays, and closed on the other alternating Fridays.
