Laguna Beach Aliso Fire currently has 400 firefighters still actively engaged in containing the 150 acre vegetation fire that started at 1:07pm on Saturday June 2 2018 at
Aliso Woods Canyon Trial.
There was minimal fire behavior observed Sunday June 3 2018 despite increased wind activity in the afternoon.
Fire Fighters continue to build and improve containment lines.
Containment is currently at 40%.
There was (3) injuries and no structures were threatened.

Laguna Beach Fire Chief Mike Garcia states that the Aliso Fire is not growing.
It is burning under the heavy brush, and is Still 10% contained.
Acreage burning remains approx 150 acres.

Laguna Beach Unified School District Update at 3:20pm Sunday June 3 2018
Classes will be canceled at Top of the World Elementary Monday June 4 2018.
All other campuses will be open as usual.
The Boys and Girls club located on Laguna Canyon will be open Monday June 4 2018 at 8:00am and will provide childcare for families in need.

For the safety of Laguna Beach citizens, the Laguna Beach Fire Department discourages the use of: Mathis Canyon Trail, Car Wreck Trail, and West Ridge Trail until further notice.
Also note @OCParks has closed Aliso Woods Canyon until further notice.

Orange County Fire Authority is reporting that helicopters have mapped the fire perimeter and have updated the fire acreage to 150 acres with 10% containment.
Laguna Beach Police Department is reporting that 300 Homes and 600 Residents are still under evacuation.
Laguna Beach Police Department would like to “thank our brothers and sisters at the LBFD and all of the fire agencies that came to help when we needed it.”

The City of Laguna Beach Fire Department evacuation orders for residents in the Top of the World and Old Top of the World areas remain in effect Sunday morning June 3 2018.
Residents on the West or ocean side only of Alta Laguna Boulevard are now allowed to return to their homes.
That includes residents living on Bern Drive, Cresta Way, Zell Drive, Dorn Court, Chillon Way, Chateau Way, Bernard Court, Temple Hills Drive, and Bern Court are allowed back in their homes at this time.
Evacuations remain in effect for Ridge Drive, Rimcrest Circle, Crestwood Circle, Park Place, the East side of Alta Laguna Boulevard, Tyrol Drive, Mountain View Drive, Bonn Drive, Nestall Road, Treetop Lane, Alpine Way, Ann’s Lane, Shady Lane, Old Top of the World Drive, Sommet Du Monde and Shady Place.

Evacuations remain in effect for these areas due to the potential of fire danger and because fire apparatus might be populating the neighborhoods preventing the ability to evacuate.
Aerial fire crews are currently monitoring flare-ups and heat spots on the fire from the air. Because a thick underbrush is currently smoldering in some areas, ground fire crews need to extinguish those areas from the ground and maintain access to the area.
The City of Laguna Beach wants to sincerely thank all residents affected by the evacuation for their cooperation during this fire emergency.
No structures have been lost at this time.
The evacuation orders remain in effect to safeguard Laguna Beach citizens from any harm and will be lifted as soon as possible.
Fire crews from the Laguna Beach Fire Department and the Orange County Fire Authority are closely monitoring the fire situation and remain on scene.
The Aliso Fire started early Saturday afternoon and grew to over 250 acres in size, with 1500 Laguna Beach residents evacuated.
City administrators are monitoring the fire from the City’s Emergency Operations Center.
Temporary Evacuation Point or Evacuation Shelter:
A Care and Reception Center has been opened at the Susi Q Community Center which is located at 380 3rd Street. Information and staff are available at the center for evacuees.
