The City of Dana Point Free Family Friendly Science Night is Thursday June 21 2018.
Dana Point Science Night will focus on Climate Change Invaders. .
Dana Point Free Family Friendly Science Night is at The Dana Point Community Center at 6:30pm till 8:00pm.
“Climate Change Invaders” is presented by Piper Wallingford of University of California in Irvine.
As the temperature of our ocean rises, marine intertidal organisms will be affected not only by the stress of higher temperatures, but also indirectly through changes in predation rates.
Piper will talk about how these direct and indirect effects will alter predator and prey distributions along the entire west coast.
Piper is a doctoral student in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCI.
She studies global change ecology in rocky intertidal systems and frequently participates in community outreach education and events.
Dana Point Science Nights allow you to learn about local ecosystems, California’s unique flora and fauna, and new science research in Orange County.
Presentations feature local and esteemed experts from the scientific community.
The Dana Point Community Center is located at 34052 Del Obispo Street.
