Barbara Odanaka is the author of four books for children.
Her latest, Construction Cat features hardworking Mama Cat who supervises the construction site—while Pa Cat stays home to mind the kittens.
The author was partly inspired by her own cat, Mittens, who works extra hard at being cute and lazy.
Odanaka, a former Los Angeles Times reporter, grew up in Newport Beach but has called Laguna Beach home for more than two decades
