In a Email to South OC Surfrider subscribers, the South OC Surfrider chapter announced that they will present to the California Coastal Commission this week to discuss options for the near and long term future of the Capo Beach Park.
For several years, SF South OC chapter has montitored the changes at Capo Beach Park.
Surfrider South OC reports that “This past summer the parking lot was regularly getting covered with sand and debris from high tides.
On two separate 2018 storm events, the sidewalks and some parking spaces have collapsed from being undermined.
November 30th, 2018, the park took a direct hit as the wooden boardwalk just down coast from the park’s emergency armoring collapsed.
The swell and tide were NOT unusually high.”
