California King Tides Day is Saturday December 22 2018.
The California King Tides Project help people visualize how sea level rise will impact their lives.

Saturday’s High Tide in Orange County California will be at 7:51am am with projections of 6.7 Feet.

Sunday’s High Tide in Orange County is at 8:33am with projections of 6.7 Feet.

California King Tides Days are also January 20 2019 and January 21 2019.

Via smartphones and social media California Kings Tides Project invites you to document “king tides” – the highest high tides of today, which will be the average water levels of the future.

California King Tides Hashtag is #kingtides.

The pictures that you take help scientists and managers better plan for future flood risks, and give you a way to participate directly in the science that will drive decisions in your community.

Everyone is welcome to participate!

California King Tides Project organizers want to:

Engage Californians in a conversation about the future of our beloved coastal areas
Identify places that are currently vulnerable to flooding
Build a hyperlocal catalogue of images that can be used by everyone – artists, scientists, school groups, coastal planners – to document, visualize, and communicate about coastal hazards
Our shores are constantly being altered by human and natural processes and projections indicate that sea level rise will exacerbate these changes.
King Tides images offer a living record of the changes to our coasts and shorelines and a glimpse of what our daily tides may look like in the future as a result of sea level rise.
