South OC Beaches Top 10 Pop Culture Movie Picks 2018

10. Aquaman
A movie on paper I hated, ended up being full of wonderful surprises.
A lot of fun, which is what DC movies have sorely been missing for over a decade.
(Minus Wonder Woman of course)

9. Black Panther
A cultural shift in the right direction and a fantastic intro Marvel movie.

8. Solo: A Star Wars Story
It has a 70% on Rotten Tomatoes and yet, this is easily one of the most underrated films in the history of it’s genre.
Really sad there won’t be a sequel.

7. Bohemian Rhapsody
If you like Queen you will LOVE this movie, even if less than half of it is true.
It’s still awesome and keeps your interest the entire time.

6. Game Night
Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman are equally awesome in this very creative comedy.
Best non animated comedy of the year!

5. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
So visually creative, funny, and endearing.
One of the most enjoyable films of the year.

4. Teen Titans GO! To the Movies
So much fun and the best DC movie possibly, ever!

3. Sorry To Bother You
Very entertaining story that reflects so much of the world we live in today.
It will make you laugh, and most importantly think.

2. Avengers: Infinity War
We waited six years for this EPIC story and it live up to expectations.
That in of itself is pretty amazing.
It holds up extremely well upon multiple viewings.

1. BlacKKKlansman
This movie made me feel emotions I’ve never felt watching a movie before.
In one particular scene I felt a strong disgust for blind bigotry and racism that are very real issues in our society today.
It’s such a provacative story, with strong dialogue, and simply the most interesting film of the year.

*Honorable Mention- Fahrenheit 11/9
In 2018 this is the most important film to watch, but it’s hard to objectively rank where it should fit among this list since it’s a Documentary.
Liberals, and Conservatives should see this and start holding all of their politicans (Rep and Dem) accountable.
