The Laguna Beach Arts Commission meets Monday January 14 2019 at 5:30pm.

The Laguna Beach Arts Commission will be meeting at Laguna Beach City Council Chambers.
Laguna Beach City Council Chambers is located at 505 Forest Avenue.
The public is encouraged to attend.

Members of the Arts Commission advise City Council about matters pertaining to artistic and aesthetic aspects of the City.
This includes rules and regulations necessary for the administration and preservation of fine arts, performing arts, and aesthetic aspects of the community.
Members of the Arts Commission serve two-year terms.

Proposed Discussion Items Include:

Red Phone Booth – Discuss and approve a design for a 24 month temporary exhibition period.

Palette Competition – Program overview. Discuss improvements for future programming.

Sunset Serenades/ World Music – Discuss and approve the performers for the series.

5/10: Django Shredders – Gypsy Guitar Duo

5/17: Crockett Sisters – Eclectic, acoustic Pop

5/24: Jimmy Z & The Z Tribe -World class Blues

5/31: Inca – Peruvian

6/7: Jessica Fichot – Cino/French

6/14: Minyo Station – Japanese

Public Art Donations – Discuss and establish a sub-committee to make recommendations.

Art Installation at Thalia Street – Discuss and recommend the item be sent back to the sub-committee for further review or request a new vote.

Village Entrance Art in Public Places – Discuss and approve recommending the City Council enter into a contract with Marc Fornes to develop proposal at a cost not to exceed $4,500 for the Village Entrance Art in Public Places requirement.

Temporary Installations – Update report.
