Southern California Earthquake Hits on 4th of July 2019.

Southern California Earthquake 6.4 July 4 2019

A 6.4 Earthquake hit the Mojave Desert near Ridgecrest California on Thursday July 4 2019 at 10:33am.

The Mojave Desert Earthquake was felt throughout Southern California.

Southern California Beaches felt strong rolling from the Earthquake.

The National Weather Service is reporting that they do not expect any Tsunami Activity.

Disneyland temporarily closed some rides so they could conduct safety inspections.

Dr. Lucy Jones of the US Geological Survey stated, “We should expect aftershocks”.

“The Ridgecrest Earthquake does not increase the risk of an Earthquake on the San Andreas Fault”, Dr. Lucy Jones explained.

This was one of the largest Earthquake’s Southern California has felt since 7.1 Hector Mine Quake in Twenty Nine Palms in 1999.

Dr. Lucy Jones reports that Los Angeles had a 48 Second warning that foreshadowed the Ridgecrest Earthquake.

Ridgecrest California July 4th 2019 Earthquake Information

The 4th of July Earthquake was 11 miles outside of Ridgecrest California.

Ridgecrest is in a sparsely populated area.

The California Highway Patrol is reporting at 10:46am that on State Route 178 at Trona Road “Large Cracks in the Roadway from the Earthquake and some cracks are approx 5 inches deep”. Also that there was a large boulder on the road.

Kern County Fire Department is reporting on Twitter at 11:35am that “1 KCFD strike team of type 2 engines enroute, 1 handcrew enroute.”
“Surveys still continue to inspect critical infrastructure including safety of highway passes through area canyons.”

Kern County Fire is reporting on Twitter at 11:15am that they are responding to over (2 Dozen) incidents from medical assistance to structure fires in and around the city of Ridgecrest California.

Ridgecrest is reporting power outages after the Earthquake.
