Dana Point City

California Starts Opening Back Up

As we are experiencing wider reopening of businesses across the State, the City will be scaling back its COVID community updates to one or two times per week depending on announcements from State and local health authorities.
While the State is providing industry guidance, county health officers will be making decisions regarding reopening different sectors of local economies.
We look forward to hearing from the County on additional sectors of the economy getting the green light.

Dana Point Is Watching COVID-19 Local Case Counts and Hospitalizations

While the situation is fluid, the City will be watching local case counts and hospitalizations as we move through the summer, with the hope that numbers stay low and City events planned for later in summer can be confirmed.
This includes opening the Community Center and resuming recreation classes with modifications.

Dana Point Summer Recreation Classes start July 13 2020
Registration for Summer Recreation classes has been pushed back due to the ongoing closure of the Dana Point Community Center caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Registration will open at 7:30am Monday June 22 2020.
Classes are scheduled to begin the week of July 13 2020.

Dana Point City Hall is Reopened to the Public

Monday through Friday from 8:00am-12:00pm with modifications.
By appointment from 1:00pm to 4:00pm (call 248-3500).
The City has initiated a number of protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for employees and the public, and to reduce the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace.
These protocols include mandatory face coverings and temperature screenings for both City staff and members of the public before receiving in-person services at City Hall.

The County of Orange

Dana Point is Working with then County of Orange and the Federal Stimulus Aid

The City has been in contact with Supervisor Bartlett’s office regarding the $75 million in federal stimulus aid to be distributed to small businesses and nonprofits in Orange County. More information about this program, which will be facilitated by the Small Business Development Center, will be available in the coming days.

Orange County Free COVID-19 Testing For Essential Workers
The County has free COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic and symptomatic essential workers.
Please visit lhi.care/covidtesting or call 1 (888) 634-1123 to schedule an appointment.

OC COVID-19 Testing Network

4 new sites have been added to the OC COVID-19 Testing Network, which offers PCR testing that identifies if a person is currently infected.
If you are symptomatic and cannot get tested through your doctor or do not have insurance, please visit www.ochealthinfo.com/covidtest to schedule an appointment.

The State released new guidance to help Counties plan for reopening based on decisions by local Public Health Officials.

California Orders More COVID-19 Testing

HEROS Act

The House of Representatives passed the $3 trillion bill, dubbed the HEROS Act to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
The bill is being considered by the Senate.

CDC Cleaning and Disinfecting Reopening Guidance

The CDC has released Reopening Guidance for Cleaning and Disinfecting Public Spaces, Workplaces, Businesses, Schools, and Homes.

Safe Water
Mouton Niguel and South Coast Water District want to assure residents that our water is safe and reliable. Water quality and supply have not been affected by the coronavirus (COVID -19).

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE)
SDG&E has suspended disconnections for nonpayment until further notice.
They have also implemented a number of tools to help customers online

So Cal Gas
SoCalGas is working with residential customers on bill payment and small businesses by waiving late payment fees. They also have tips to save energy. Learn More at SoCalGas.

Cox Communications
Cox has temporarily adjusted its Cox Solutions Store hours in California as residents are directed to stay at home amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As an essential business that provides critical communications services, Cox Solutions Store locations will stay open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Monday through Friday to serve customers.
Stores will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
