Dana Point COVID-19 Community Updates Will Be Posted On As Needed Basis
The City of Dana Point will continue to post the latest updates via the City of Dana Point Facebook Page.
Dana Point 4th of July Fireworks Celebration Cancelled
Fourth of July fireworks are cancelled and will be rescheduled when it’s safe to do so.
Governor Newsom pulled back openings for counties on the State “watch list”, which includes Orange County, and recommended cancelling scheduled fireworks shows to avoid large gatherings.
Condor Squadron Flyover Time on 4th of July 2020
The Condor Squadron will be flying over Dana Point on July 4th between 5:50pm and 5:55pm
Dana Point Weekend Beach Closures Update
Doheny State Beach will be closing its parking area on July 3 2020, but the beach will be open and accessible to pedestrians and bicycle traffic.
July 4 2020 and July 5 2020 Doheny State Beach will have a hard closure, meaning the parking areas and beach areas are closed.
Bicycle traffic will be allowed to travel through the park to Capo Beach at Beach Road.
Salt Creek, Strands, Capo Beach, Baby Beach Closed
The County of Orange will close all County operated beaches and beach parking lots on July 4 2020 and 5 2020 following a State recommendation meant to slow the spread of COVID-19.

City Hall is closed tomorrow, July 3rd in observance of the 4th of July holiday.

The County of Orange
OC Closure of Bars, Pubs, Breweries, and Brewpubs that do not Offer Dine-In Meals
The County issued a new health order yesterday that took effect today, following guidance from the State that the following businesses must close indoor operations: dine-in restaurants, wineries & tasting rooms, family entertainment centers, movie theaters, zoos, museums, cardrooms, & indoor/outdoor bars.

The City is working diligently with our restaurants to address outdoor dining options in an attempt to help them survive the impacts from the new health order.
County of Orange COVID-19 New Dashboard
Based on input from elected officials, the media and community organizations, the County of Orange has redesigned its public coronavirus data dashboard, making it easy to see how the County’s case and hospitalization numbers compare to State benchmarks, where cases are by zip code for larger cities, and how nursing facilities are affecting the numbers in each community.

Small Business Grant Relief
More details have been made available about County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett’s Small Business Grant Relief Program.
The program will support small businesses and community organizations impacted by COVID-19 in Orange County Supervisorial District Five.
Grants of up to $10,000 will be available to eligible small businesses and non-profits within the district.
The grant application period will begin on Monday June 22 2020 at 8:00am.

COVID-19 Testing
If you are interested in COVID-19 testing, whether asymptomatic or symptomatic please visit chi.care/covidtesting or call 1 (888) 634-1123 to schedule an appointment.
Free COVID-19 Testing
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and you cannot get a test though your healthcare provider, you can get a FREE medical assessment and a test through the OC COVID-19 Testing Network.
These are all community health centers that offer testing and care, even if you do not have health insurance.
If you test positive, your close contacts (those who have been within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes) will be tested or referred to another location for testing.

Community Encouraged Not to Attend Gatherings
The California Department of Public Health Director and State Public Health Officer Dr. Sonia Angell issued a statement today warning Californians not to gather with extended family, friends and loved ones this Fourth of July weekend to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

California Mandates Face Coverings June 18 2020
Governor Newsom and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) announced guidance that face coverings will be required in the State of California, effective immediately.
The new order supersedes the County’s Health Order issued on June 11 relating to face coverings.

Safe Water
Mouton Niguel and South Coast Water District want to assure residents that our water is safe and reliable. Water quality and supply have not been affected by the coronavirus (COVID -19).
San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE)
SDG&E has suspended disconnections for nonpayment until further notice.
They have also implemented a number of tools to help customers online

SoCalGas is working with residential customers on bill payment and small businesses by waiving late payment fees. They also have tips to save energy. Learn More at SoCalGas.
Cox Communications
Cox has temporarily adjusted its Cox Solutions Store hours in California as residents are directed to stay at home amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As an essential business that provides critical communications services, Cox Solutions Store locations will stay open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Monday through Friday to serve customers.
Stores will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
