California surges in Corona Virus Cases and Governor Newsom closes Indoor Businesses statewide on Monday July 13 2020.
California Governor Gavin Newsom closed many Businesses in California to slow the spread of COVID-19 on Monday July 13 2020.
There are Statewide Indoor Business Closings and additional closings for Counties that are on the COVID-19 watchlist.
Counties are added to the list by state officials because elevated disease transmission, increasing hospitalization or limited hospital capacity are above the criteria threshold.
Southern California currently has eight counties that are on the State of California COVID-19 County Watchlist.
Southern California is one of the most populous regions of the Country.
California Statewide Indoor Closures
ALL counties must close indoor operations in these sectors:
Dine-in restaurants
Wineries and tasting rooms
Movie theaters
Family entertainment centers
(for example: bowling alleys, miniature golf, batting cages and arcades)
Zoos and museums
Cardrooms
Additionally, bars, brewpubs, breweries, and pubs must close all operations both indoor and outdoor statewide.
Governor Newsom, on his regular Facebook Live Press Conference stated that currently there is “30 Counties on the California County Watchlist.” Newsom explained that 80% of the California population is in these 30 Counties. Newsom added that he “expects to add a couple more Counties in the next few days.”
California Counties on Monitoring List Closures
Counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for 3 consecutive days will be required to shut down the following industries or activities unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up.
Fitness centers
Worship services
Protests
Offices for non-essential sectors
Personal care services, like nail salons, body waxing and tattoo parlors
Hair salons and barbershops
Malls
