The County of Orange

County of Orange Achieves Below State Data Monitoring Threshold August 19 2020

The County received confirmation from the California Department of Public Health that August 19 2020 was the first day that Orange County was below all of the State’s data monitoring thresholds.
As a reminder, the County needs to maintain this status for three consecutive days in order to be removed from the County Monitoring List.
The goal is to remain off of the County Monitoring List for 14 consecutive days to then begin reopening certain sectors of the economy.
In addition, based on the K-12 Reopening Framework, once Orange County has been off of the State’s Monitoring List for 14 days, all in-person instruction can resume.
Potentially, Orange County will be off the Monitoring List shown on the State website August 22 2020 and the projected day to reopen certain sectors is September 6 2020.
On their data dashboard, they’ve added a countdown clock to track how many days we have been off the monitoring list, which can be viewed here.

Once the County is off the list, we are still subject to the Governor’s July 13 2020 order with respect to sector closures.
Indoor operations shall remain closed, even when a county is removed from the County Monitoring List, until the State Health Officer modifies the Order and authorizes re-opening.
