Wednesday July 7 2021 Features: Executive Directors Report/Legislature Report/South Coast District (Orange County)/South Coast District LA County/South Central Coast District/San Diego Coast District

Public Hearing: County of Los Angeles to amend the text of the Land Use Plan and the Implementation Plan portions of its certified Santa Monica Mountains LCP with regard to definitions and development standards for resource-dependent uses in H1 and H2 habitat (ESHA), including low impact campgrounds.

Public Hearing: City of Newport Beach: Action to extend 60-day time limit for Commission action up to one year on request by City Newport Beach to amend the LCP Implementation Plan (IP) regulations regarding short-term rentals on Newport Island in Newport Beach, Orange County.

Public Hearing: City of Newport Beach: Action to extend 90-day time limit for Commission action up to one year on request by City of Newport Beach to amend both the Land Use Plan (LUP) and Implementation Plan (IP) portions of the certified LCP to add one new LUP policy and add new IP section outlining procedures for transfer of development rights from a property to one or more other properties in Newport Beach, Orange County.

Public Hearing: San Diego County: Action on NOID by San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), pursuant to NCC PWP/TREP, to construct a 0.5 mile, 12’ wide shared use bike/pedestrian path with 2’ shoulders and a 4’ high post-and-cable fence on east side of rail corridor between Santa Fe Drive and F Street, Encinitas, San Diego County.

Public Hearing: San Diego: Action to extend 60-day time limit on adoption of revised findings for Commission’s June 10, 2021 action approving with modifications the update to the Fiesta Island component of the Mission Bay Park Master Plan Land Use Plan.

California Coastal Commission Mission

The mission of the California Coastal Commission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance environmental and human-based resources of the California coast and ocean for environmentally sustainable and prudent use by current and future generations.

The Commission holds monthly public meetings of three to five days in length in different locations throughout the state.
The Commission meetings provide an opportunity for the Coastal Commissioners to take public testimony and to make permit, planning, and other policy decisions.
Prior to each meeting, Commission staff collects and analyzes information pertinent to meeting agenda items and prepares written staff reports with recommendations for Commission action.
These staff reports are available for public review, by contacting the appropriate Commission office. Some
elected staff reports are also available electronically by means of a link from the Commission’s
Meeting Notice.
