Cleveland National Forest is the Lead Agency on The Chaparral Fire
Starting on September 1 2021 at 6:00pm
Crews have completed containment lines around the perimeter of the fire and all lines are holding.
Cleveland National Forest will be taking over management of the fire as of 6:00 pm this evening.
The new phone number for fire information will be (619) 857-8882 and will be available from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.

Chaparral Fire History
The Chaparral Fire started at 12:38pm on Saturday August 28 2021.
Tuesday August 31 2021: All Evacuation Warnings and Orders had been lifted.
Cleveland Forest Road and Tenaja Road southwest of Murrieta in Cleveland National Forest.
The Fire is burning west of the foothill communities of La Cresta and De Luz.
