The City of San Clemente’s Beaches, Parks, and Recreation Department and Code Enforcement Division are actively hiring part-time staff for multiple positions.
Code Enforcement is Hiring
Park Rangers (starting pay is $16.54)
The Beaches Parks and Recreation Department is Seeking Multiple Individuals For
Recreation Leaders I, II, and III ($15.00 – $21.11)
Golf Course Marshal ($15.00 – $18.24)
Pool Lifeguard (starting pay is $16.14 after 100 hours $16.95)
Water Safety Instructor (starting pay is $17.79 after 100 hours $18.68)
Head Lifeguard (starting pay is $18.24 after 100 hours $19.15)

Preliminary onboarding with Human Resources
Please note that there will be a swim test portion for aquatic positions.
The swim test will include:
300-meter swim in under 5 minutes and 30 seconds
2-minute water tread
Retrieval of a 10-pound brick from a depth of 14 feet
Come prepared with:
Swimsuit and towel
Change of clothes for the interview portion
Onboarding Process
Bring a photo ID
Candidates under 18 years:
Required to have a parent or guardian present
Need to obtain a work permit once hired
General Information
No certifications are required at the time of hire to join the aquatics staff team
Online applications are encouraged but will be available on-site
Interested applicants must arrive before 3:00pm
Staff will receive a free swim, paid sick leave, and flexible hours
