Many Californians are looking forward to a three-day weekend this year for Labor Day Weekend 2022.
Even though people are eager to travel and get together with family and friends, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is urging motorists to slow down and enjoy the holiday.
To help ensure the safety of motorists throughout the holiday, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will conduct a Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP).
Labor Day Weekend Maximum Enforcement Dates and Times
Friday September 2 2022: Starts at 6:01pm thru Monday September 5 2022 at 11:59pm
To help keep motorists safe, officers will focus on removing impaired drivers from the road.
Impairment can be caused by more than just alcohol – it also comes from cannabis, illicit drugs, and prescription drugs, or a combination of any of these.
