UPDATE: September 9 2022 at 8:53am: The City of Laguna Beach is reporting via their official Facebook Page: “Southern California Edison (SCE) has informed the City we are no longer considered for a Public Safety Power Shutoff today. All power should be on to customers.”

The City of Laguna Beach posted on their official Facebook Page on Thursday September 8 2022:
“Southern California Edison (SCE) has begun notifications for a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event this Friday September 9 2022 due to elevated winds and fire risk.
The Laguna Beach Acres Circuit (see map) is listed as a possibility for de-energization depending on how the weather behaves on Friday September 9 2022.
When weather conditions create a high risk for a wildfire, SCE may temporarily shut off power to your neighborhood to prevent the electric system from becoming the source of ignition. These outages are called Public Safety Power Shutoffs.”

Updated at 7:45am on Friday September 9 2022: SCE is currently considering Pubic Safety Power Shutoffs to 19623 customers in Orange County.
