Saturday December 10 2022: City Tree Policy Update at 10:00am-12:00pm

City staff is working with a consultant (West Coast Arborists) on updating the existing City Tree Policy, which is over 20 years old.
The City will be holding two public meetings in early December, 2022 in order to obtain community input.
Once community input is received and the policy is revised as needed, staff will bring the policy to the City Council for discussion and final approval.
The policy will incorporate tree maintenance standards per the American National Standards Institute and International Society of Arboriculture best management practices.
It will address issues such as the maintenance of city owned trees, trimming public trees for private views and procedures for tree removals and inventories.
The policy will also address future goals such as the development of an Urban Forest Management Plan, assessment of the Urban Tree Canopy, future planting programs and the frequency of trim cycles to enhance urban forest.
