The City of Laguna Niguel announced that the #Niguel Fire is fully contained.
The City of Laguna Niguel stated in an official press release that “The City was fortunate to have received swift aid from various public safety personnel, including the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), and neighboring public agencies. The Niguel Fire was maintained at approximately 4 acres, with no damage to structures, and no reported injuries.”
Mayor Kelly Jennings stated, “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the dedicated public safety personnel, our invaluable city staff, and our supportive neighboring agencies for their unwavering
commitment in providing critical resources to our City during this challenging incident. Together, we will move forward, united in our mission to keep our community safe and well-informed.”

Orange County Fire Authority is Fighting the Niguel Fire in Laguna Niguel California on Wednesday July 19 2023.
A wildfire started at 1:00pm at Camino del Avion and Niguel Road in Laguna Niguel Tuesday July 18 2023.
Fire is currently at 80% containment.

The portion of Salt Creek Trail from South Peak Drive and Niguel Road remains closed.

#NiguelFire remains at 80% containment with no threat to the public.
The fire remains at approximately 4 acres in size. The cause of the fire is under investigation with no cause yet identified.
No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
Fire crews remained onsite throughout the night & treated minor flare ups, which is common given the circumstances.
Strike teams will continue to treat the area to reach 100% containment. All road closures have now been lifted.

8:00pm: The Niguel Fire is now at 80% containment
Fire crews will remain onsite throughout the night to gain additional containment, and to treat any hotspots or flare ups.
5:40pm: The fire continues to hold at approximately 4 acres.
No homes have burned and no evacuation orders are in place.
1:00pm: A Vegetation Fire was reported near Camino del Avion and Niguel Road.
Road closures were in place on Beacon Hill and Ridgeway Avenue
Public safety personnel reported to the scene.
