San Clemente World Surf League Champs Will Be Crowned At Lower Trestles Friday September 6 2024.

Surfing Starts at 8:00am(pt).

After nine regular season events, the Lexus WSL Finals brings the top 5 men and top 5 women in professional surfing to Lower Trestles for a one-day, winner-take-all, showdown for the coveted title of World Champion.

From Pipeline and Portugal to Teahupo’o and Cloudbreak, it has been a hard fought season for the world’s best surfers.

Ten surfers enter, and only two will emerge as Champions and add their name to the legacy of the sport.

This September, current world No. 1 John John Florence will be making his first appearance at Lower Trestles as a World Title contender.

Caitlin Simmers, in only her sophomore season as a CT athlete, will be making her second run at a World Title while also donning the Yellow Leader Jersey.

Meanwhile, world No. 2 and defending champion Caroline Marks will be back in front of her home crowd to defend her World Title.

How To Get To Lower Trestles And Parking

Driving

Coming from either north or south on I5, take Exit 72 (Cristianitos Road) and head east (away from the ocean) to the pay parking lot on S El Camino Real.
Limited public parking is available on nearby streets; please be sure to obey all posted parking signs and regulations.

Rideshares

All drop-offs and pick-ups should be at the red curb outside the pay parking lot on S El Camino Real.

San Clemente Free Trolleys

The City of San Clementeʼs free Green Line Trolley will add a stop at the S El Camino Real pay parking lot on Thursday 9/5 and on Finals Day.

Getting to Trestles

Youʼll need to walk, bike, or skateboard from Cristianitos Road.
Take either the Trestles Beach Trailhead or San Clemente Bike Trail until you meet the San Onofre State Beach Trail, then keep going
until you reach the train tracks.
At the end of the paved road, park your e-bike/bike in the designated area, and walk south along the beach until you reach the event site.
If youʼre on an e-bike, please watch your speed!

EBikes

From Thursday 9/5 through the end of the event (and including on Finals Day), no bikes, including
e-bikes, will be allowed on the beach or trails.
This is to maximize the available beach space for fans, and to best protect the environment at Lower Trestles.
E-bikes must park in designated e-bike parking areas.
Any e-bikes attempting to ride or park in restricted areas will be turned away.
Please obey all instructions and signs; there will also be restrictions on e-bikes on the beach during the event setup and breakdown.
