Cal Fire Evening Report Tuesday January 14 2025:
Fire behavior was moderate today but potential for significant fire growth still exists.
Firefighters continue to aggressively engage in fire suppression while providing for operational and personnel safety.
Additionally, there are over 2,000 CAL Guard members involved in the firefight.
Today, winds gusting 30-40MPH were observed, and humidity dropped to the 12-20% range. The RED FLAG WARNING will remain in effect through 6:00PM, Wednesday.
Palisades Fire is 18% contained and 23,713 acres have burned.
A curfew is in effect from 6:00pm to 6:00pm in all areas under a mandatory evacuation order and evacuation warning.
Los Angeles County has declared a local health emergency.
Cal Fire Reports that 5200 Personnel are working on the Palisades Fire.

Malibu is under a Red Flag Warning until 6:00pm on Wednesday January 15 2025 due to gusty winds and humidity of 13%.
Disaster Recovery Center Opens Wednesday January 15 2025 in Los Angeles
The LA County Disaster Resource Center will open to the public starting Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the Disaster Resource Center will be available to the public from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

City Of Santa Monica Is Reporting
Strong winds are forecast to continue through tomorrow. Please continue to monitor santamonica.gov and the city’s social channels for fire and safety updates.
Santa Monica areas north of San Vicente Boulevard are still under evacuation warning. Residents may return but should remain prepared.
Entry points into Los Angeles and Pacific Coast Highway remain closed.
The curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. remains in effect north of San Vicente Blvd.

Malibu Building Inspectors Damage Assessment
Malibu Building inspectors are conducting rapid visual assessments; number of damaged/destroyed structures TBD
At this time, the fire has extended beyond the burn scar of the Franklin Fire, although it is not advancing further into Malibu City limits.
Santa Monica Issues Curfew In Evacuation Zone at 6:00pm-6:00am
The city of Santa Monica has issued an emergency order in response to the impacts of the Palisades Fire.
The emergency order includes a curfew, from sunset to sunrise, in the areas where a mandatory evacuation order is in effect to support law enforcement efforts in these zones, and other measures to facilitate an effective response.
The City of Santa Monica is reporting that,”2,472 households under a mandatory evacuation order within the city of Santa Monica and 8,338 under a voluntary evacuation warning.”
Palisades Fire is at 21,317 Acres with 8% containment. 13,306 Structures are threatened. More than 5000 Structures are damaged or destroyed.

Areas surrounding the Encino Reservoir and near the Getty Center have been downgraded to Evacuation Warnings.
The evacuation warnings are in place around the perimeter of the mandatory evacuation zone to the North and East within the City of Los Angeles boundaries.

Palisades Fire Notable History
Cal Fire Reports that Palisades Fire started at 10:30am in Pacific Palisades.
The Wild Fire started near 1190 North Piedra Morada Drive and was at 20 acres when LA Fire responded. Wind was at 25mph with gusts at 50mph.
At 11:30am the fire was estimated at 200 acres. At 8:30am on Wednesday January 8 2025 the Fire grew to over 5000 acres.
