California Highway Patrol Maximum Enforcement 4th of July 2026 Weekend

California Highway Patrol encourages everyone to Slow Down and Save Lives this 4th of July Holiday Weekend.

“Reckless driving and speeding continue to endanger lives on California’s roadways,” said CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee.
“As families and friends travel this holiday weekend, we urge everyone to slow down, be considerate of others and make responsible choices behind the wheel. Getting there safely is what matters most.”

CHP Maximum Enforcement 4th of July 2026 Weekend starts Thursday July 2 2026 thru Sunday July 5 2026.

Maximum Enforcement Begins at 6:00pm Thursday July 2 2026
Maximum Enforcement Ends at 11:59pm Sunday July 5 2026

Throughout the extended holiday weekend, all available uniformed members of the Department will be on patrol to enhance public safety, deter unsafe driving behavior, and, when necessary, take appropriate enforcement action.

The public can help by calling 9-1-1 if they suspect an impaired driver.

Callers should be prepared to give the vehicle’s description, location, license plate number, and direction of travel.
