The Dana Point Tall Ships Festival is this weekend! The Sunset Parade was cancelled tonight for safety concerns brought on by Hurricane Norbert.
The Festival will resume tomorrow, Saturday September 6 2014. Right now all festivities are still scheduled.

The Dana Point Tall Ships Sunset Parade was cancelled today due to high surf from Hurricane Norbert. The Orange County Register Newspaper is reporting that the Festival Director Tracy Kirby stated that “With the huge surge and high tide, it would be unsafe for people to board the historic ships.”
The Tall Ship Festival is still scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. There may be changes to the festival due to Hurricane Norbert. We will keep you posted of any changes as we become of aware of them.

8 FEET ON FAVORED SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES OF ORANGE COUNTY.

ELEVATED SURF CONTINUING INTO MONDAY. A LARGER AND SHORTER PERIOD

For those of you who can’t make it out to sea, you may view the parade from shore from the breakwater behind the Ocean Institute. We can’t guarantee what time the ships will pass by, but it’s safe to arrive around 5:30 p.m. Don’t forget you camera!
