Ritz Carlton Dana Point Exclusive Picaso Exhibit

The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel provides a unique and rare opportunity for guests staying on The Ritz-Carlton Club Level to experience an exhibit featuring the works of Pablo Picasso. On loan from Galerie Moderne, Picasso: Themes & Variations opens September 2 exclusively to guests staying on The Club Level. The collection is comprised of a body of work that follows Picasso’s constantly evolving artistic vision with depictions of his numerous styles through the modern era. From his early compositions of circus performers in his Blue and Rose periods to the discovery of Cubism, the collection will portray the master’s constant state of metamorphosis. It consists of several different mediums which Picasso explored throughout his career including exclusive pieces in pochoir which were created by hand coloring stencils with watercolor and gauche paint.

Guests can enjoy the Picasso exhibit and extend their stay with the Treat You package. Starting at $775 per night, the Treat You package includes accommodations on The Ritz-Carlton Club Level and one complimentary night when guests stay four nights.

Galerie Moderne is devoted to promoting the appreciation of Modern and Contemporary art by hosting exhibitions within the public forum. The gallery is home to an innovative and pioneering collection which covers an array of mediums, genres and artists.

You’re invited to experience the exclusive Farm-to-Feast event with the talented chefs of the St. Regis Monarch Beach, taking place at the Resort’s Botanical Garden on Sunday, August 17 from 4pm-8pm. Enjoy an evening of ocean views and supporting local farmers and artisan products, while enjoying chef prepared dishes by the Resort’s award-winning culinary team. Executive Chef Raj Dixit of Michael Mina’s Stonehill Tavern and Executive Resort Chef Frederic Castan, with Executive Chef Graem Blair of Motif Restaurant and the Resort’s Pastry Chef Frederick Moreau, along with Chef Franck Tassic of Monarch Bay Club and Larson Warkentin of Club 19, will be offering their delectable seasonal tastings. Walk the grounds of the lush Botanical Garden and enjoy a variety of hand-selected cheeses, freshly shucked oysters and sustainable seafood, olive oils, fresh baked bread, and various charcuterie from the finest vendors in Orange County.

The Laguna Beach Art Commission will be meeting today,
Monday August 11,2014 at 5:30pm.
The meeting will be held at 505 Forest Avenue Laguna Beach.
Agenda items are as follows:
A. 2014 Artist Designed Bench Competition – Discuss and approve competition guidelines. (Ballard)
B. September Sunset Serenades – Introduction schedule and update report. (Kollenda)
C. City Council Joint Meeting – Discuss agenda items for the City Council and Arts Commission joint meeting on September 16, 2014.(Mansour)
D. Police Memorial Sculpture – Update report. (Staff)

Public Communications – In order to assist the Arts Commission in the timely completion of its business, speakers are asked to limit any one of their presentations to three minutes or less. The Chairperson of the Arts Commission may extend this time for good cause. Names and, if given, addresses of speakers will be part of the official records and meeting minutes are placed on the City’s web-site.

This morning San Clemente Farmers Market will start at 9:00am and continue till 1:00pm. This is the first Sunday of the month, so the Village Art Fair will also be going on from 9:00am till 3:00pm. This afternoon we will be enjoying the Dana Point Concert Series. The Fabulous Ultra Tones and The Sam Morrison Band will be playing.
Today’s event will be at Sea Terrace Park from 2:30pm till 6:00pm.
Sea Terrace Park is located at PCH & Niquel road. It is recommended that you park at Salt Creek Beach Park and access Sea Terrace Park through the pedestrian tunnel.
