Longtime Laguna Beach resident and retired Santa Ana College History Professor Tom Osborne will speak on his new book Coastal Sage: Peter Douglas and the Fight to Save California’s Shore.
Coastal Sage chronicles the career of the longest-serving executive director of the California Coastal Commission, Peter Douglas.
Douglas fought for nearly three decades to keep the California coast public, prevent overdevelopment, and safeguard habitats.
Douglas emerged as a leading figure in the contemporary American environmental movement and influenced public conservation efforts across the country.
There will be an author chat, followed by a Q&A session and a book signing.
