Laguna Beach City Council meets Tuesday April 16 2019 at 6:00pm.
The Laguna Beach City Council will discuss the Laguna Beach Police Vehicles new graphics.
The original graphic had muted blue coloring that reflected the City’s coastal location.
The new graphic has the colors and stars of the American Flag that reflects patriotism.
The Public is encouraged to attend and share their views on this matter.

The Laguna Beach Police Chief selected the following proposed graphic for the Laguna Beach Police Department Vehicles.
The muted colors could not be replicated by the Graphic Manufacture, so they replaced it with primary colors. This created a design that is very different than the graphic that was approved.
The original graphic had muted blue coloring that reflected the City’s coastal location.
The new graphic has the colors and stars of the American Flag that reflects patriotism.
In recent years, the American Flag has come to be associated with conservative viewpoints.
The Community has expressed concerns regarding the proposed graphic and the actual graphic.
Some community members feel that the graphic is intimating.
It has been mentioned that the red embolden ICE lettering is threatening.
Some community members like the “American Flag” graphics that reflect patriotism.
The Council will discuss this and allow for community engagement on this issue.
Laguna Beach Five Year Financial Assessment Workshop is at 3:00pm
1) Review and consider increasing Community Development fees every two years to keep pace with inflation and account for changes in services;
2) Review and consider increasing other city fees every four years to keep pace with inflation and account for changes in services;
3) Consider establishing an Information Technology reserve for the replacement and repair of critical IT infrastructure;
4) Review existing cash reserves for possible internal refinancing of pension liabilities; and
5) Incorporate items in future Five-Year Financial Assessment presentations based on feedback from the City Council.
