
Newport Beach California Closes all City Beaches for the 4th of July (2020) Holiday.
This closure is to prevent large gatherings to help slow the COVID-19 virus during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Update: Newport Beach closes Beaches on July 5 2020
Newport City City Council met at an Emergency Meeting on July 1 2020.
The City announced at 6:00pm on their Facebook Page the 4th of July Beach Closure.
This came after it was previously announce that two seasonal Newport Beach Lifeguards tested positive for COVID-19.

Newport Beach Seasonal Lifeguards Test Positive for COVID-19 Update
Two seasonal lifeguards employed by the City have tested positive for COVID-19.
Contact tracing confirmed that an addtional 21 lifeguards were exposed; they have all been referred for follow-up care, which may include testing and quarantining.
